Two years. Over $150,000 invested. The MDV Folder is the result of relentless collaboration between Michael Donvito and Jack Nevils, based on the proven MDV fixed blade geometry and enhanced with the innovative Bramp friction-opening feature, developed in partnership with Bram Frank.
This isn’t just a folder—it’s a purpose-built personal protection tool. Engineered from D2 Tool Steel and finished with a Black PVD coating, the MDV Folder features a right-side frame lock (intentionally placed for superior off-hand manipulation), high-traction scale, and integrated glass breaker. Every detail is designed for real-world performance—built to function like the MDV fixed blade, but foldable for discreet, everyday carry.
Included in this kit is the MDV Folder Trainer, featuring a steel body with a lightweight aluminum blade and mirror the live knife in form and function, with only a minor difference in weight. Some pivot pin adjustment may be necessary to dial in tension based on blade weight.
